Dennis is the founder and principal of Nkukwana CC, a black-owned firm that offers consulting services in transportation and development planning. A firm strategy to provide clients with the much-needed conceptual and strategic interventions that would strengthen their internal processes. He is an accomplished transportation professional with a career that has straddled both public and private sectors locally and internationally. Dennis as over 26 years experience in town planning, transportation planning, public transport planning, provision and management. Recently employed by City of Tshwane as a Senior Town Planner (1996-2004), Manager – Transportation Planning (2004), Acting Executing Director – Transportation Development and Planning (2004-2005) and then as Executive Director (2005-2008) where he managed and directed numerous routine and complex assignments in transportation and public transport planning taking a special interest in the development of the Tshwane Transport Authority; the role of the taxi industry. He was part of the process to develop “taxi regulatory structures” from the very was responsible for the “Formalisation of the former Coloured and African Townships in the Brits area”. Dennis is a specialist on transport for mobility-impaired people and the construction of the related facilities gained through his employment abroad as Development Manager at Leeds Community Transport (1986-1995) and Research Co-ordinator at Sandwell Community Transport Services (United Kingdom). A sustainable integrated public transport system must involve, and be accessible to all members of the community. Besides professional expertise, Dennis is involved with innovations on economic development, community and rural development and is willing to collaborate with others involved in similar as value-add either for mutual benefit.
